Poultry Science: Academics: Undergraduates
Faculty Advising
The UGA Poultry Science Department has world-renowned faculty and staff. They have some of the most modern and sophisticated research and teaching facilities in the nation, where undergraduate students are allowed a variety of unique, hands-on experience learning opportunities.
Aside from offering research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, this faculty also acts as academic advisors for undergraduate and graduate students. Whereas most undergraduates do not meet with their faculty advisor until the third year of their undergraduate experience, students in the Department of Poultry Science (and other College of Agriculture and Environmental Science majors) meet with a faculty advisor from their first day and throughout. This gives students the opportunity to work closely with an experienced professional from their particular area of interest.
