Research Interest
Research efforts in my laboratory are focused on studying a type of signal-induced cell death referred to as "apoptosis". This physiological form of cell death is mediated by a signal transduction cascade that activates the cell's own metabolic machinery to bring about a type of "cellular suicide". Current studies are aimed at elucidating the signaling pathway that regulates apoptosis and the genes that mediate this process. Recent work has focused on using Flow Cytometric Methods to analyze cells undergoing apoptosis.
