Poultry Science: Undergraduate Program

Avian Adventures

Welcome to Avian Adventures!

Summer 2014 Application

This short course is open to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors interested in learning more about the field of poultry science. Participants apply new skills and have fun while sharing a unique educational experience.

Microbiology Avian Anatomy
Avian Reproduction Embryology
Surgical Techniques Physiology & Behavior

In addition to these subjects, students will be engaged in discussion with faculty, undergraduate and graduate students on topics that range from poultry science and avian biology to college life and admission to the University of Georgia. Students will have the opportunity to work with leading experts in the areas of physiology, microbiology reproductive physiology, endocrinology, management and biotechnology.

Applications will be due in late Spring for 2015 trip . Space is limited and participants will be selected based on academic accomplishments and demonstrated interest in pursuing a major and career in the areas of poultry science and avian biology. Applicants must be rising sophomores, juniors and seniors and preference will be given to students who have not previously attended the course.
